After the successful conduct of Gully Cricket Tournament organized by UT Cricket Association (UTCA) and Chandigarh Police previous month, Chandigarh Police’s DGP Praveer Ranjan offered UTCA to organize the next edition of this tournament for boys and girls in the age group of 14 to 18 years. A total of 2448 players representing 204 teams enthusiastically participated in this tournament organized from 6th April to 23rd April with the aim of inculcating passion towards cricket among youth while keeping them away from drugs. The tournament also received full cooperation from the Municipal Corporation and the Chandigarh Administration. DGP Praveer Ranjan has expressed his hope that UTCA will continue to strengthen the campaign of drug free Chandigarh by encouraging this initiative.
Taking cognizance of this proposal, Sanjay Tandon said that he welcomes this proposal and will take forward this annual event with the police department.
