After elapse of 72 hours ‘Dharna’ by Irrigation Engineers at Hydel Building here, against witch-hunt by Punjab’s Vigilance Bureau, the Joint Action Committee held a meeting among all Engineering Organizations P.S.E. Class-I, AMIE Association, Diploma Engineer Association & Draftsman Association in Chandigarh. All Engineering Organizations decided to organize Peaceful Dharna at District Head Quarters Irrigation Premises from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM. All District level officers J.E., S.D.O., XEN, S.E. will sit with black badges and erect black flags outside their offices. All Engineers of Districts will submit the Memorandum to concerned Deputy Commissioners to press the government to accept their genuine demand of stopping forthwith the targeting of irrigation Engineers by VB, for onward submission to Principal Secretary/Irrigation and Chief Secretary/Govt. of Punjab, Chandigarh.

After 7-8-217 if government does not accept the genuine demands of the Engineers then Engineering Organizations will go on Mass Casual Leave.
