Knowledge and skills development is vital for  the holistic development of the students.  We live in an information age where knowledge and skills of students are  valued not just on their academically acquired skills  but also on their intellectual knowledge and awareness of latest and prevalent technologies in the industry. Keeping in view the same, DAV College, Sector 10,Chandigarh organized several extension lectures for the students of various streams to enlighten then with the knowledge of various prevalent and upcoming technologies in the industry by inviting researchers, eminent  academicians  and developers from various reputed institutions from across the region.

The expert panel for the lectures included Prof Sunil Taneja, Prof Kapil Chugh and Prof Amandeep. Prof Sunil Taneja enlightened the gathering about the Data Mining and Data warehousing and how the  successful implementation of a data warehouse can bring major benefits such as Potential high returns on investment, Competitive advantage, Increased productivity of corporate decision-makers, Better enterprise intelligence and cost-effective decision-making in an organization. He also apprised students about the various intruiging and effective domains of information technology which can be undertaken for research and application development.

Prof Chugh from RSD College Firozpur shared his views about DNS and IP classes and their significance in the field of networking. He also called upon students to pursue network programming as a career option as same was in great demand in the industry. Ms Amandeep from Arya college, Ambala elucidated students about Error Correction and Detection at the level of DLL. She also drew attention  of the students towards memory management algorithms and explained their significance in efficient working  of a system. The lectures ended with a motivational speech by Principal Dr B.C Josan  who stressed on the need of thinking out of the box to match with the global competitors. He also advised students to work with dedication and take maximum benefits of the various students endeavors of the college.
