Balbir Singh Sidhu, MLA, SAS Nagar launched milk with “Quality Mark” today.  Now Verka milk will come with Quality Mark awarded by National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), which will signify safe and quality milk. This Quality Mark has been awarded to Verka Mohali Dairy considering the best practices adopted in milk procurement and state of the art milk processing & packing infrastructure.

Chairman of Verka Mohali Dairy Mohan Singh Dumewal said that Verka Mohali Dairy is committed for the upliftment of Milk producers since its inception which has resulted in the growth of Mohali Dairy alogwith farmers associated with them.

Speaking on the occasion Additional Managing Director, Sh. H. S. Grewal said, “We at Verka always believed in bringing the best quality of milk for our consumers. This Quality Mark will reinforce the consumer trust and assurance.” “Verka plants meet the stringent quality checks laid down by the NDDB hereby allowing us to use the quality mark. The whole idea is to build consumer confidence in our milk and milk products. There should be no second thoughts before serving Verka products to your loved ones” He added.

NDDB recently launched the initiative to Enhance Consumer Confidence in Cooperative and Allied Dairy Sector. The initiative involves pre-assessment of the dairy units followed by detailed inspection by an expert panel including an external member. A holistic approach is followed to trace the practices adopted in hygienic and safe handling of milk from its point of collection/pooling till it reaches the hands of consumers. The inspection covers the aspects of primary collection of milk in DCS, BMC’s, chilling centers, processing of milk at the dairy plant and marketing of milk and milk products through milk booths/ stores.
