Department of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics of DAV college, Sector-10, Chandigarh organized National Seminar on ‘Biological Sciences: Prospects and Perspectives’ on the theme “Science & Technology for Specially Abled Persons” sponsored by DAV Management & Punjab State Council for Science & Technology. Dr B.C. Josan, Principal, DAV College, presided over the function. Mrs. Promila Chandra Mohan, Honorary Secretary of SOREM, Sector-36, Chandigarh, was the chief guest. She tried to inculcate spirit of selflessness and service towards the society, particularly for specially-abled children amongst the audience. The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Manni Luthra Guptasarma, Professor in Immunopathology of PGIMER, Chandigarh. To commemorate the National Science Day various events were organized like innovative slide show, quiz, elocution, scientific rangoli & paper presentation. There was an overwhelming response for the National Seminar. More than 200 delegates from in and around Chandigarh participated & presented their papers. Principal Dr. B.C Josan congratulated the Heads of both Departments and faculty for organizing and successfully managing the events together. He also motivated the students to take part in such events as it serves as an excellent platform for gaining knowledge and showcasing talent.
