The Department of Biotechnology and Botany, DAV College, Sector 10, Chandigarh jointly organised the Akshay Urja Diwas on the 20th of August, 2021 to create awareness about the importance of renewable resources of energy. This day is celebrated every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of Late Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi.
The college celebrated this day to make the students aware of the use of natural sources of energy.Various inter-college events like essay writing, slogan writing and poster making were organised as a part of the celebrations. The chief guest of the occasion was Mr. S. C. Saini. He enlightened the participants about the benefits of renewable energy. Prof Chopra, officiating Principal highlighted the importance of alternative sources of energy. The results of the events were announced by the Dr. Raman Soni, Convenor of the event. She thanked the participants for the overwhelming response.
