Zaigham Imam’s Alif – “Ladna nahi padhna zaroori hai’ , which garnered appreciation for its serious content and bold dialogues, is all set to have a world TV premiere on 1st July at 9pm on Star Gold HD. The film raises voice against the religious education received in Madrasa and was praised by critics.

 

Once during an event Manoj Bajpayee had expressed, “”Story of this film is different and it’s Unfortunate that i am not part of this film.”

Alif was narrated by Jaya Bachchan and is a movie about a father, his son and his ambition to make him a doctor. His fight with the orthodox seminary education and his fellow neighbours. The trailer of the film was launched by UP’s chief minister, Akhilesh Yadav. It stars Neelima Azeem, Bhavna Pani, Pawan Tiwari, Danish Hussain, Aditya Om, Saud Mansuri, Shimala Prasad as the lead characters.

Alif premièred in the Indian International Film Festival of Queensland, held in Australia in November 2016. It also won the Best Screenplay and Best Child Artist award at the Bioscope Global Film Festival. It was also showcased in Aligarh Muslim University where it has been greatly applauded. Zaigham has earlier directed Dozakh – in search of heaven.
