‘Kala-Srijan, the Creative Hand Society of the P.G. Department of Fine Arts of Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector-11, Chandigarh organized its Annual Art Exhibition today. Mr. Rakesh Kumar Popli, Director Higher Education, Chandigarh Administration inaugurated the exhibition. Prof. Anita Kaushal, Principal of the college was the guest of Honour on the occasion. Dr. Guneeta Chadha, Head of the Department of Fine Arts introduced the theme and significance of the event in the academic life of art students.
The exhibition showcased more than 200 art-works of various categories like Creative Composition, Life study, Still life, Posters, Advertisements, Landscapes, etc. Creative usage of waste bottles made in a best out of waste category were appreciated by one and all. Book marks, paper weights, artistic usage of paper flowers were some of the novel and beautiful items among the exhibits. The creativity and imagination of the Fine Arts students of BAI, BAII, BAIII and MA I was a treat for everybodys eyes. All the exhibits were unparalleled and portrayed the practical application of the theoretical dimensions learnt by the students.
Mr. Rakesh Popli, DHE, appreciated the aesthetic expression of the students and motivated them to make use of their skills for overall development. Principal Prof. Anita Kaushal applauded the efforts put in by the society for conducting such a fascinating art exhibition. Dr. O. P. Parameswaran proposed the vote of thanks.
