Aryans Institute of Nursing, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh celebrated World Cancer Day at its campus under the theme “We can; I can”. Students of GNM and ANM participated in the function. Mrs Neha Thakur, HOD, Aryans Institute of Nursing presided over the function.

Students organized various activities including Debate competition, Role Play followed by a seminar to raise awareness of cancer and encourage its prevention, detection and treatment among the students.

Students took a positive and proactive approach to the fight against cancer. The students also presented presentations under the theme “We can; I can”. The purpose of the activity was to create awareness among the students regarding importance of preventive measures and early diagnosis to beat the menace at the initial stages

The World Cancer Day originated in 2000 at the first World Summit against Cancer, which was held in Paris & Celebrated on February 4thall over the world. Its main goal is to seriously reduce the instances of illness and death by cancer by the year 2020.
