The Bold Nation and Chandigarh Physique Alliance’s first edition of Body Building and Physique Championship and National Powerlifting Championship concluded with prize distribution at Indradhanush Auditorium here today. Haryana Assembly Speaker Gianchand Gupta was the chief guest of the concluding function. He announced a financial grant of Rs 1 lakh to the organizers for more such programs.

Gian Chand Gupta while congratulating the organizers, said that he liked the theme of the programme, which was ‘Drug-free Haryana. He said that the youth should stay away from drugs. Haryana is at the forefront of sports in the country and he has also written a letter to the Chief Minister of the state demanding closure of the hooka bars.

Anumit Hira Sodhi, Anubhav Agrawal and Sanjeev Chawla were present as special guests. 

BJP MP and Bhojpuri singer Manoj Tiwari had inaugurated the ceremony on Saturday. Bollywood and Pollywood actor, Sachin Rishi, and Celebrity Cricket League player (actor and organiser) Rajeev Rishi said that youth should stay away from drugs and focus on their health. Keeping the body fit should be the first objective.

Atinder Jit Singh, President, Chandigarh Physique Alliance said, “This championship is being organized for the first time in Tricity. We want to spread the message of drug free Haryana. We will continue to organize such events in future also.

Notable sponsors of the championship include Alcasva, HFN Nutrition, Gibbon Nutrition, Merchant Perfumes, Tanishq, Gray Heron, Sanjeev Kalra and Protein Karel.

As part of the Strongmen competition, the contestants pulled a truck. The NPC Nationals also took place on the second day. In the championship, there were competitions in bodybuilding, classic physique, men’s physique, women’s bikini round, women’s physique round and star category.
