Prof. Emeritus and Senior Advocate, Dr.Balram K Gupta was conferred with the Capital Foundation Justice M.C.Chagla National Award by Justice Madan B.Lokur, Chairman, UN Internal Justice Council in the distinguished presence of Justice A.K.Patnaik at an award function held in Constitution Club, New Delhi, here today.
Dr Gupta was recognised for his outstanding and distinctive contribution in Shaping and Mentoring Judges in India and abroad.
Earlier, he was the Guest Orator at the Sri Lanka Judges Institute and was honoured with a Glass Plaque from Chief Justice of Sri Lanka, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Priyasath Dep PC. He also led the Indian Delegation to Canadian Judicial Institute, Ottawa. He was also given the Punjab State Nayaya Rattan Award. He is the recipient of LifeTime Achievement Award from Rotary International District 3080 for connecting Rotary with Judiciary through his writings, orations and memorial lectures. He has spent 70 years of his life in Chandigarh.
