Creative children’s summer workshops got underway under ‘Champs Camp’, at VR Punjab here, in association with the British Council. The camp began with activities like calligraphy by an exponent of the art – Gagandeep Singh, cookery by renowned culinary expert Kandla Nijhowne, dance by Sameer – a well-known dance choreographer of the Tricity, theatre by Ranjit Roy and cue maths by Deepinder Singh.  Cue maths is a system of teaching mathematics which makes learning maths fun. The power packed activities which are aimed to help school children have fun and learn at the same time have been scheduled from May 24 till June 9. Innovative workshops will be spread across 17 days and is attracting students from various schools of the Tricity.

The ‘Champs Camp’ at VR Punjab is unique due to multiple reasons. For the first time in North India, children’s favourite Nerf gun activity – Play Nerf Live will be held. What’s more, a meet & greet with Cosplay superheroes like Iron Man, Spider Man & Batman awaits children on 9th June, the concluding day.

Art & craft workshops, workshops in origami – a Japanese art, photography workshops by  Vikram Joy – an established photographer of city, and even soft skills  training sessions are scheduled. A science workshop, a session with the  traffic police department, an interactive activity with MC Chandigarh’s health department and a special event on environment day which is 5th June are on the anvil.

VR Champs Camp is endorsed by the British Council and the Education Fraternity of the region with active participation of schools like The Little Millennium School, Mohali and Learning Paths, Mohali.

VR Punjab is organising the camp to help children make productive use of their summer vacations. The activities and experts who are delivering these have been carefully selected so as to provide children with knowledge; energize them and kindle in them an interest towards learning & exploration. This is an important calendar event for VR Punjab’s Connecting Communities initiative, where students and their parents can combine fun and learning together in a secure environment.
