On the occasion of ‘Chhath Puja’, NGO Shree Shyam Karuna Foundation organised the 87th ‘Bhandara’ , or community kitchen, at Industrial Area Phase 1 here. The ‘Bhandara’ was held under the guidance of Amitabh Rungta, a social worker and founder of the NGO.
On this occasion, Rungta said that in ‘Chhath Puja’, ‘Sun God’ and ‘Shashthi Mata’ are worshiped and it is a four-day festival. He said that on this occasion, feeding the hungry is considered an auspicious initiative . This helps in ushering in peace in the household of the donor and also removes troubles for him or her. Every Hindu festival is associated with God and on a special occasion, the importance of feeding the needy increases manifold.
Rungta further said that every person should come forward to feed the hungry and make others also aware of its importance. He said that humanitarian qualities develop in a person when he starts participating in works related to human welfare. Rungta also congratulated all the city residents on the occasion of ‘Chhath Puja’.
Along with Amitabh Rungta, Anupama Rungta, Chaitanya Rungta, Pragati Rungta, Deepali Rungta, Suresh Jangra, Nidhi Sandhu, Sushant, Ganesh, Raju, Amar, Sunil, Seema Avdesh and others were present in the ‘Bhandara’, who enthusiastically contributed to the successful conduct of the community kitchen.
