City’s famous Start Up Pumpkart which is a frontrunner in marketing water pumps online, under a unique business model, has unveiled an innovative platform –India’s first mobile E-store. Created in form of a Mobile Van the Mobile E Store was flagged off by Navjot Singh Sidhu, Local Bodies & Tourism Minister , Punjab from PCA stadium, Mohali. The event also witnessed the presence of K S Bhatia, Founder & CEO, Pumpkart, Kapil Dev, renowned former Indian cricketer who is brand ambassador of Pumpkart , Vivek Atray, IAS (Retd.) Independent Advisor & Motivational Speaker, one of India’s leading Angel Investor’s – Dr. Ritesh Malik. “The motive behind the launch of van is to create awareness among the direct users as well as the masses to select the correct products as per the requirement not what have been directed by the plumbers or mechanics . Since Water pumps stand as the assets for farmers they would be benefited from this. Said K S Bhatia, Founder & CEO, Pumpkart.
Navjot Singh Sidhu, in appreciation of the new project said, “Pumpkart is from Punjab and we feel proud as it’s work has been recognised not just in India but even by Google. This initiative by Pumpkart is commendable as the van will travel across Punjab to make agricultural users, home consumers , retailers & users in even Industrial units aware about technical & other aspects of choosing a water pump, which will help reduce power & water wastage. There is a need for Punjab to spawn & foster more Start Ups which can work particularly in the agriculture sector & ameliorate farmers’ problems.”
The van has been equipped with various models of pumps with different specifications. What’s more, the van also has a touch screen describing various characteristics of a good pump. It will also give buyers a chance to choose and purchase pumps online, which would reduce the cost, as the long supply chain which includes mechanics, plumbers, distributors etc will be no longer be needed.
“It is a privilege to be associated with Pumpkart as its Brand Ambassador. I have been informed that this foremost start up of Punjab will also open an academy for skill development and generate employment for the unemployed youth of the state.” said Kapil Dev, famous former cricketer & Brand Ambassador of Pumpkart. Dr. Ritesh Malik, a renowned Angel Investor said, “I believe in this new project of Pumpkart and will provide every possible support to it. It is pivotal to develop an effective Start-up culture in Punjab, which is a reality in many parts of South India.” I am impressed the way Pumpkart is scaling the business as this is the best way and O2O is the future of e-commerce and Pumpkart will be benefitted a lot from this as the this model doesn’t exist so far in the country and hence prove as an advantage over the competitive edge . Hardly any pump manufacturer or people in this industry are using this concept or technology.
It is noteworthy that presently the market of pumps is unorganised and many times people end up buying the wrong pump which results in power & water wastage. Even plumbers & mechanics will be made aware about how to choose the right pump through the mobile E store.
“We are planning to launch a van with the same concept in Delhi NCR by the month of June this year and 3 more will come up in the North Indian region by the end of 2018. We have a goal to come up with 15 more vans by 2019 for other 15 states as well.” summed up Bhatia.
