Emphasizing the core message of Mission Fateh which entails that the threat of the corona virus has not diminished, rather it has become more menacing with the passage of time and needs to be checked through discipline, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Girish Dayalan said that a sense of complacency has begun to creep in through the belief that the virus is not as harmful as it was made out to be. So, “the district authorities need to strictly enforce the home quarantine in order to halt the spread of the novel corona virus”. He was presiding over a meeting held in order control the spread of COVID-19.
The DC categorically said that the criminal proceedings would be initiated against the person who would jump the Home Quarantine. Further, even visitors to home quarantine persons would also face criminal action.
He also ordered to synchronize the Rapid Response Teams (RRTs) and field surveillance teams to ensure contact tracing, medical help, shifting of patients & their care, Home Quarantine and its strict enforcement. In order to ensure the strict compliance of home quarantine norms, the DC emphasized the real time dissemination of data of travellers, who are to be medically screened also, coming to the district through Air, Train and by Road.
Rooting for the strict compliance of the social distancing guidelines, wearing masks, not spiting at public places, the DC also directed strict watch to be kept over the mass gathering places such as mandis, markets, malls, so as to ensure that proper health protocols are followed there. He also constituted teams at the level of MC, Mohali and EOs in addition to already deputed Officers/Officials for challaning and strictly enforcing strict compliance of the same.
Coming to the issue of travellers from outside, entering the district, the DC ordered that tit must be made sure that he 5 Naakas from where in-bound travelers are entering the district are revamped. He also gave directions to Police, SDMs and Nodal Officers to strictly ensure that each and every person shall download the COVA app and generate Epass well before entering the district, in case where COVA app is not downloaded on their phones and the directions were also given to give maximum publicity to the fact that the in-bound travellers to the district must download the COVA app on their phones before they reach the concerned boundary of the Toll Plaza.
He also directed the concerned officers present in the meeting to ensure maximum registration by downloading the COVA app in view of ‘Mission Fateh’
Among others present in the meeting included the ADC Aashika Jain, S.P (HQ) Gursewak Singh Brar, all SDMs, A.C. (General) Yashpal Sharma, A.C. (G) Harkirat Kaur Channe, and Civil Surgeon Dr. Manjit Singh.
