The annual festival , the maha utsav kaarvaan commenced on 18th Feb. On this auspicious occasion Sh Ajit Balaji Joshi , Director General Higher Education , Haryana was the chief guest. Dr. H. R. Gandhar, Vice president DAV Managing Committee , Retd. Principal R.C Jeewan and Principal Dr. B. C. Josan graced the occasion with their presence. Sh. Sandeep Singh, Minister Sports and Youth Affairs was the chief guest for the second session. He told the students to stress on discipline and hardwork. Retd. IPS, Sh. V. K. Kapoor was the guest of Honour for this session.
The inaugural ceremony encapsulated the blend of all the cultures & its diversity.The folk dance from Haryans Naati , Giddha & Bhangra was performed by the students with full enthusiasm & zeal. Lassya dance group took the audience breath away. Afghaani students presented their culture in a unique way which stole the show.
A troop of Dancing shadows also left the entire auditorium spellbound with their performance by DSW dance group which had a striking theme “Love has no gender”.
The dance performance by the Manipuri students also added another feather to the cap to the entire program. Students rejoiced the performance of alumnus of DAV College Chandigarh ,Mr Sandeep Brar. While talking to Sandeep Brar about his journey as a singer , he recalled all the old memories & the golden days spent in DAV College sector 10. Students rejoiced on the foot tapping track ” Char din ” & ” step cut “.
Dr Pawan Kumar Sharma , Principal of the college motivated the faculty , students & the performers & conveyed his vote of thanks to the dignitaries present during the function. He also apprised the efforts of DSW team. Live performances by Umar Daraaj Chishthi & Ustaad Surendar Khan also left everybody enthralled.
