Dr R.S. Bedi recently nominated as councillor municipal corporation Chandigarh by the administrator was honoured in the glittering Lohri Celebrations of IMA Chandigarh state at IMA complex for being chosen as the councilor representing not only the IMA, but the whole medical fraternity.
Dr. Ramneek Sharma, president IMA, Chandigarh said that Dr Bedi s nomination is an honour for the whole medical fraternity. Many issues pertaining to healthcare in private and government sector, can be taken up through him.
Dr Bedi speaking on the occasion said that violence against doctors, charitable activities in IMA complex, forming Chandigarh medical council, commercial charges for doctors running clinics in residences, private public participation to augment health facilities are major issues needing attention.
He further added that We will approach industries under CSR and the MC to start special facility for immediate assistance during health emergencies, particularly to the senior citizens of Chandigarh.
The issues of pollution, renewable energy, waste disposal, parking and improving the happiness index of the city were other issues highlighted by Dr Bedi on the occasion.
