The Bio-Technology Department of Post Graduate Govt. College for Girls,Sec-42,Chandigarh organized its Annual GENETECH FEST in the college premises today. More than 200 students from the various colleges from the city participated in the fest. The running trophy bagged by the students of Post Graduate Govt. College for Girls, Sec-42,Chandigarh. The events included Les Quizerables, Glass Painting, Snapshot, Memory Master, Ad-Mad Show. Dr. Parvinder Singh, Controller of Examinations, Panjab University, Chandigarh was the Chief Guest and inaugurated the fest. The College Principal Prof. Binu Dogra welcomed the chief Guest and said such fest is the need of the hour for better interaction of the peer group and holistic development of students. Professor Rajat Sandhir, Department of Biochemistry, Panjab University, Chandigarh was the Guest of Honour and asked students to have continuous search for knowledge and thrust for competition which would see them through in highly competitive world. Dr. Dalip Kumar, Head of the Biotechnology Department, elaborated the achievements of the department both in academics and co-curricular activities during the current session. Sh. Hardeep Singh, Area Councillor and former Deputy Mayor, Municipal Corporation,Chd , Chief Guest for Valedictory function gave away the prizes to the winners. Dr. Sunita Kumari proposed a vote of thanks. Dr. Ruchi Sharma Co-ordinated the event. PGGCG-42 won first prize in Glass painting, Les Quizerables and Memory Master while SGGSC-26, chd, got first prize in Photography and Ad-Mad Show. The students of PGGCG-11,Chd got prizes in Glass Painting and Ad-Mad Show.
