Gian Jyoti Global School celebrated Lohri festival with boundless joy and fervor at its campus in Phase-2, Mohali. The celebration began with a special assembly wherein teachers of the schoolenlightened students about the history and importance of Lohri festival.
Mrs. Ranjeet Bedi, Principal, Gian Jyoti Global School performed ‘Lohri Poojan’ and lit up the bonfire by offeringsome rewaries, popcorn, sugar-candies, sesame seeds, gur and other things in the fire as per the Lohri tradition. Lohri sweets were also distributed to all during the celebration.
On the occasion, special arrangements were made for Lohri celebrations. Students presented beautiful performances of Bhangra & Gidha on traditional Punjabi Boliyan and songs. The mood at the campus was upbeat and the students were totally absorbed in the festive spirit of Lohri.
To add more fun in the celebration teachers also enchanted the story of ‘Dhulla Bhatti Wala’ and also performed on folk dances of Punjab.
Mrs. Bedi, Principal, Gian Jyoti Global School wished Happy Lohri to all the students, staff and parents. Everyone enjoyed the warmth of the bonfire and gachak, ground nuts, popcorns, wishing each other happiness and prosperity.
