Global Fashion Exhibition, has kick started at Kisan Bhawan in Sector 35. Organised to coincide with Valentine’s week celebrations the exhibition is not just about trending stylish wear but also empowering farmers and creating awareness about breast cancer. The nearly 50 exhibitors have come from across India and are representing places like Delhi, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Gurugram etc. Even international presence is seen with participation of exhibitors from Afghanistan and Thailand.
The exhibition that is themed on weddings, lifestyle and home decor  will be on till Feb 13(Monday) and daily timings are 11 am to 8 pm.

Rattandeep Singh Walia, Director, The Global Events, a city-based organisation specialising in putting up exhibitions said, “The visitors are getting to check on trendy fashion apparel, wedding wear, lifestyle products and more at the exhibition. What’s more, as farmers are an important part of our life we have provided a platform to agriculturists too.”

Jogesh Mallik a progressive farmer from Haryana, said, “We are from  Celebrating Farmers Edge International. Under this initiative farmers are encouraged  to become Farmpreneurs by empowering them. In this exhibition we have brought organic raw honey, jaggery, jaggery powder, sugarcane imli chatni, sugarcane  herbal tea, sugarcane  vinegar etc. Farmers from Punjab and Haryana are also producing sugarcane tea, sugarcane ice cream etc.”

Meanwhile, celebrated cookery expert Nita Mehta’s range of spices , and Honey label ‘Bee Hive’ products are also available at the exhibition. ‘Burger Bae’ is providing a Valentine feel and vibe with hip pink and red coloured T-Shirts for both girls and boys, a stall from Thailand ‘Bangkok Collections’ is displaying enticing fashion accessories. ‘Shahi Dry Fruits’ from Afghanistan is also attracting eyeballs.

Traditional Indian craftsmanship is being presented by ‘Shabreen’ Lucknowi Chikankari suits, Chikankari is a traditional embroidery style from Lucknow. Myriad Lehengas by ‘Auzy Fabrications’ are also catching the attention of visitors. ‘Jaan Shawls’ from Najibabad is presenting a collection of luxurious hand embroidered pashmina shawls.

There are wedding accessories; and bangle boxes for  newly wedded brides. ‘Accessories Junctions’ from Delhi has brought all types of fashion jewellery, customized jewellery and mobile accessories. Honey Bansal is here with her jewellery collection and ‘Mee’s’ beauty products has put up a wide range of cosmetics.

Digital Prints’ by Shikha, consists of unstitched digital printed suits on pure fabric such as chiffon, organza, georgette, pashmina and many more, ‘Home Talk,’ Dr Neeru Grover, has enchanting handlooms and home decor items, while ‘The Heritage Furniture’ is present with beautiful furniture pieces at the exhibition.

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) The Global Events has tied up with an NGO Rani Breast Cancer Trust to spread awareness about breast cancer, which has emerged as a major health risk for women. The trust has also put up a stall at the exhibition.
