Global Fashion- Lifestyle & Home Décor Exhibition (Valentine’s Special), has kicked-off at Himachal Bhawan, Sec 28. Organised to coincide with Valentine’s week celebrations and also named ‘Valentine’s Special’ the exhibition is not just about trending stylish wear but also empowering local artisans and creating awareness about their art. The nearly 50 exhibitors at the showcase have come from across India.
The exhibition will be on till Feb 12(Monday) and timings are 11 am at 8 pm.
Rattandeep Singh Walia, Director, Global Events, that has put up the exhibition said, “We have brought in trendy fashion apparel, wedding wear, lifestyle products and more at the exhibition. The exhibition is giving visitors an unparalleled shopping experience and accentuating the Valentine’s fervour too. We also have a diverse range of fashion accessories like handbags, jewellery, traditional juttis etc.”
Ms. Aman Walia, the other Director of Global Events said, “We have beautiful products by weavers and local artisans from different parts of India. This will empower the artisans and also revive dying art forms. We have also provided a platform for fashion management students from National Institute of Fashion Technology(NIFT), Panchkula established under the Ministry of Textiles, GOI at the exhibition. The students are receiving practical exposure and we will be giving them a certification of training under the Global Events banner.”
A Non-Governmental Organisation(NGO) ‘Virasat-E-Malwa; dedicated to reviving Malwa region of Punjab’s traditional crafts, is showcasing rural women artisans’ traditional handicrafts. The collection stands out as it has a range of Crochet products. Crochet is a needlework technique to interconnect loops of yarn to produce a delicate and intricate fabric. What’s more, Macrame items too are displayed. Macrame is an art of knotting string in patterns to make decorative articles.
Seema Goel from Muzaffarnagar has brought her label ‘Baan Kala’ that is showcasing handmade items to enhance living spaces. The range includes unique wall art, handcrafted furniture, personalized accessories etc.
‘Grafiqq’ is adding to Valentine’s excitement by presenting an eclectic display of party wear suits, cord sets, kaftans, and more.
With the chill still there in the air ‘Shopping Lamour’ has exclusive winter wear for ladies and handbags too.
There are stalls from Kashmir valley that are presenting firans, shawls, Kashmiri suits for ladies and more.
Founder of ‘Blouzz n More’ Parminder Kaur has established a ‘Pop-Up Boutique’ that has an exclusive & wide range of trendy and traditional Boutique Blouses on display. The blouses are customised in different fabrics, designs, colours & sizes which make them unique.
‘Kashmir King’ from the Kashmir valley has Mamra almonds of premium quality, walnuts and dried apricots sourced from the elevated valleys of Kargil. There’s an array of herbs and spices, including the renowned Maala Tikki from Kashmir. Additionally, the world’s most expensive mushroom also known as sponge mushroom or Guchhi too is available.
A very different display is by ‘Soul Connections 911’ – a one stop center for energy healing and spiritual products. Soul Connection’s experts are offering energy healing sessions and spiritual counselling. There is a curated selection of high-quality spiritual products too.
