Yuvsatta (youth for peace), a Chandigarh based NGO today announced the global launch of 15th Global Youth Peace Fest-GYPF 2020. The launch was done at Colombo by Honourable Thilanga Sumathipala, M.P., State Minister of Technology & Innovations, Sri Lanka.
Yuvsatta Founder, Pramod Sharma was present at the launch which was done by online registrations done first by the minister himself on the occasion of Sri Lanka’s Independence Day.
“We also had the honour of presenting his beautiful portrait prepared by none other than the famous artist Mr. Sandeep Joshi of Chandigarh.”, informed Pramod. Mr. Thilanga Sumathipala’s message to global youth on the occasion was to ‘Be SDG-Sustainable Development Goal Agents of Change’ and this will be the thrust area during GYPF 2020. The fest will be held from September 30 to October 2, 2020.
Pramod informed, “Our target is of bringing participation of young people representing minimum 50 plus countries of the world. An online social media promotional campaign has already been started with over 50 YouTube videos promoting Chandigarh’s annual Peace Fest in a big way.” They have also formed an international steering committee of young people in over 20 countries of the world to globally promote and spread the initiative of GYPF which is based on Indian ethos of ‘Vasudhev Kutumbkam- which is whole world is one family’.
Yuvsatta (youth for peace), an NGO, since 1990 is working in variety of areas to steer the people towards implementing Gandhian ideals of Constructive Programme based on voluntary effort and individual & community action. ‘Preparing SDG Agents of Change’ theme of this year GYPF2020 is inspired by United Nation’s call to achieve SDGs-Sustainable Development Goals and Mahatma Gandhi’s slogan ‘Antodaya & Sarvodaya’ to realize the ideals of real swaraj.
