Global Middas Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to social welfare, has undertaken a comprehensive Punjab Yatra under its Sadda Khirda Punjab initiative. The foundation’s team visited several districts, including Ferozepur, Bhatinda, and Mansa, and uncovered a disturbing reality – the pervasive drug challenge that threatens to dismantle the social fabric of Punjab.Sardar Inder Preet Singh shared that more than 60 Sarapanchs from Ferozpur district participated and seeked central government intervention to control drug pedalling.

The foundation’s findings reveal a alarming trend:

– Widespread drug abuse has led to family disintegration, with youth being led astray and abandoning gainful employment.

– Local traders are allegedly involved in drug peddling, exploiting vulnerable youth and perpetuating the menace.

– The situation has created an atmosphere of fear, where no one feels safe.

Moved by the gravity of the situation, Global Middas Foundation has written to the Honorable Prime Minister, Home Minister, and President of India, appealing for immediate intervention. The foundation believes that the top national leadership, as the conscience keepers of the nation, must take corrective steps to rid Punjab of the drug scourge.

“We urge the government to take decisive action to address this critical issue,” said Inderpreet Singh, Founder, Global Middas Foundation. “The future of Punjab’s youth is at stake, and we cannot afford to let the drug menace destroy their lives.”

The foundation’s letter highlights the need for:

– Enhanced enforcement and surveillance to curb drug trafficking

– Rehabilitation programs for affected youth

– Community engagement initiatives to raise awareness and prevent drug abuse

Global Middas Foundation is committed to supporting the government’s efforts to combat the drug epidemic and restore Punjab’s glory.
