Students of Geography Department of Post Graduate Govt. College, Sector 46, Chandigarh organized a competition entitled as “Globus 2017” on 11th April 2017. The function was inaugurated by Dr. B.P.Yadav, College Principal. It was started with devotional songs to get the blessings of the divinity. The annual report of the Geographical society was presented by Dr. Prem Sagar – Incharge, Geography of the Department that revealed more than 13 activities were performed during the session.
The present competition was judged by the experienced teachers of Ms. Mona Singh and Dr. Sugandha An intense competition was observed for the titles of the Best Personality of the year in the department of Geography The results are as follows:-
- Personality : Rajat BAIII
- Personality : Shabana BAIII
- Runner-Up : Parminder BAIII
- Runner-Up : Mandeep BAIII
The students presented regio-cultural dances depicting the national fervour. Besides, the students who had earned prizes in various competitions held during the session were also honoured on this occasion. Mr. Mukhtiar Ali and Ms. Subhangi were adjudged as Mr. Geographer and Ms. Geographer for having best academic record. Dr. Baljit Singh, Incharge, college Alumni was so impressed with Ms. Shabana’s- an outgoing student who made a relentless contribution to the destitute female children that he announce on the spot Appreciation Award for her.
In the end, Mr. M.V. Sharma, former Principal of Govt. College Kotakpura (Punjab) who appreciated the strenuous efforts put in by the students along with the learning process and exhorted them to remain focused in the holistic development of their overall personality. He wished them success in the coming semester exam. College Dean and College Vice Principal were also present and handed over the prizes to the winners of different activities.
