UT Administrator and Punjab Governor, V.P. Singh Badnore visited Chandigarh Spinal Rehab in Sector 28 here today. While he took a round of the rehab and interacted with the patients, he also handed over a grant of Rs 21 lakh for the development of infrastructure and equipment at the rehab.
Mrs. Nicky P. Kaur, Founder and CEO of Chandigarh Spinal Rehab said it was indeed a privilege for the Chandigarh Spinal Rehab to have the UT Administrator there and expressed her gratitude to the Administrator for the grant, which would go a long way in encouraging the inmates and in strengthening the infrastructure.
The Governor was accompanied by His Excellency Maharaja Gaj Singh of Jodhpur who hailed the facility being provided by Chandigarh Spinal Rehab which is improving the quality of life of patients with spinal injuries.
While speaking on the occasion, Badnore said, “I wasn’t aware about such good work being done by the Chandigarh Spinal Rehab. I would like to invite the wheelchair band, Flowing Karma to perform at Punjab Raj Bhawan to sing the national anthem,Jana Gana Mana.”
The Governor said, the inmates were a true inspiration for all of us that we should be happy in all situations. He said Chandigarh Spinal Rehab was doing good work in restoring the confidence among those who had suffered spinal injuries who were now living with dignity. He assured that he would now be associated with the rehab.
A presentation on success stories of inmates was also given on the occasion.
