MANORANG, the Psychology Society of Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector-11, Chandigarh organized its Annual Inter-College Psychology Fest- ZEITGEIST 2018 today. Prof. Anita Kaushal, Principal of the college inaugurated the fest by lighting the lamp. Dr. Vidhu Mohan, Professor (Retired), Department of Psychology, Panjab University, Chandigarh was the Guest of Honor. In her address, she made the students realize how psychology can be applied in all aspects of life ranging from interpersonal relationships to overcoming Monday Blues, to optimizing organizational efficiency and profits. Talking about contentment and happiness, she focused on ingredients required to live a flourishing life.
100 Undergraduate students of Psychology from various colleges of the tricity participated in a kaleidoscope of competitions. The range of contests was not limited to the traditional intellectual challenges like Debate, Quiz and Research paper presentation. Rather it gave platform to the students to venture into innovative and imaginative domains such as Charismatic personality, Theme dance, Poster-making, Face-painting, Photography and Film-making. The themes of the Fest spanned clinical arenas like Aggression and Phobia to theoretical dimensions of Positive Psychology and its applied aspects like Hope and Happiness’.
The former faculty of Psychology Department of the college also graced the occasion. Prof. Anita Kaushal Principal of the college lauded the efforts of the students and the faculty. She felt assured that such Inter-college competitions play a great motivating and inspiring role in the holistic development of the youth.
