Chitkara University organized its Annual Inter University Sports Fest, Athlos where students from 25 Universities/Colleges participated. The fest was inaugurated by Mr. Vijay Sen who is an Ex Ranji Trophy Captain, Himachal Pradesh.
The campus bloomed with participants, who participated in sports events like Badminton, Volley Ball, Basket Ball, Table Tennis, Chess, 7 A Side Soccer, Lawn Tennis and displayed their talent leaving no stone unturned to win the games.
Thrilling battle of Badminton saw MIT, Moradabad Men’s Team crowned as winners and Chitkara University, Punjab was the runner up and among Women’s Shoolini University Team won while Team from Dayanand Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Kurukshetra was runner up.
In a nail biting match of 7A side soccer Men’s Team from Rayat Bahara, Mohali bagged the winner’s trophy and Chitkara University, Punjab was the runner up.
In the basket ball, Women’s Team from Rayat Bahara,Mohali was declared as winner’s and Chitkara University, HP was the runner up and in Men’s team Chitkara University, Punjab was the winner whereas Chitkara University, HP was the runner up.
In the mind blowing game of chess Women’s Chitkara University, HP defeated Chitkara University, Punjab.
The stirring match of Table Tennis saw team from UIET winning among Men’s and Chitkara University, Punjab was runner’s up and in women’s team Chitkara University, Punjab bagged the winner’s trophy while Shoolini University was the runner up.
In the gripping match of volleyball, Men’s team from NIT, Jalandhar was the winner and Baddi University was declared as runner’s up whereas in Women’s team the winner was Chitkara University, Punjab and runner up was Baddi University.
The engrossing match of Lawn Tennis saw Eternal University, Baru Sahib Men’s Team as the winners and Chitkara University, HP as the runner’s up whereas in Women Chitkara University, HP team was the winner and Eternal University, Baru Sahib was the runner’s up.
All the teams on the campus enjoyed the unbeatable hospitality of Chitkara University. A special evening was organized for all the participants where they had a gala time and danced on DJ Sunny Singh music.
The teams were awarded and felicitated by Dr. Varinder Kanwar, Vice Chancellor Chitkara University and cash prize worth Rs 2 Lac were distributed. He addressed the budding sports stars of India and wished them luck for the future.
The event was a grand success under the mentorship of Lt. Anil Rana, Assistant Director Sports.
