The Red Ribbon Club of P.G. Govt. College for Girls, Sector-11, Chandigarh in collaboration with P.G. Department of Public Administration and NSS units of the college organised a series of Intra-College Competitions today. There was keen participation in the events of Paper-reading, Poster-Making and Slogan-Writing. The theme of the Competitions was “HIV/AIDS-Spread, Awareness and Control”.
Students showcased their creative potential in the posters depicting various factors responsible for the spread of the disease, mechanisms that can be used for creating awareness and precautions that can be taken for safety. The imagination of the students was quite visible in the slogans as they conveyed much in lesser words. Paper Reading was contested very keenly and students presented views on the rampant pace at which this malaise was spreading which was justified by way of data from authentic sources. The presentations also aimed at sensitising the society and creating awareness on the growing menace.
Prof. Anita Kaushal, Principal of the college congratulated the winners and motivated the volunteers of Red Ribbon Club and NSS to be agents of change and create awareness in the larger interest of the society.
