Minerva Academy FC, representing India in the Gothia Cup, known as the Youth World Cup, has started with a win. In the first group match, the Academy team beat Swedish club BK Olympic White by 3-0. In the first half the team scored 1 goal and in the second half the team got 2 goals. Academy director Ranjit Bajaj was also present with the team.
Minerva Academy FC made a good start in the Gothia Cup. The team started to put pressure on the Swedish club BK Olympic White from the very first minute. The team struggled for 19 minutes, but in the 20th minute, Sailex Oiman scored the goal. This opened Minerva’s account. The team maintained a 1-0 lead till the end of the first half.
In the second half, BK Olympic White’s team made changes, but they could not get the advantage. Minerva scored in the 22nd minute, this time through a sharp shot by Anurag Ekka. The Swedish club was under pressure and the Indian club took full advantage of it. Moosa Ashiq Sofi scored a goal in the 28th minute and put the team ahead 3-0. The Swedish club could not open the account and Minerva Academy FC won the match 3–0. With this win, the team is at the forefront of Group-38. The team has scored 3 goals and has occupied the top position with three points.
The Gothia Cup is recognized as the Youth World Cup. In this, 1877 teams from 70 countries are presenting the challenge. A total of 4789 matches are to be played in this and Minerva Academy is representing India here. This cup has given legendary footballers to the world, including stars like Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Andrea Pirlo, and Xabi Alonso, Etc..
