To pay a tribute to the girl child and in order to mark National Girl Child Day which falls on January 24, in a meaningful way, Healing Hospital, Sec 34 has unveiled an initiative – ‘Pari Naaz’ which is aimed at empowering the girl child. The details of ‘Pari Naaz’ which is a pioneering effort taken by a Hospital in not just tricity but also in the region was shared with media at a press conference addressed by the senior management of the hospital and related medical specialists at the Press Club here.

Drishmeet Singh Buttar , Partner, Healing Hospital who in fact has conceptualised  ‘Pari Naaz’ said, “‘Pari Naaz’ has been initiated to cherish the birth of a daughter in the family and to make people feel proud to have a girl child at home. Under ‘Parinaaz’ we will educate parents about the importance of financial planning for the girl child. A team  which has been specially trained in this will make parents aware about the GOI’s ‘Sukanya Samriddhi Account’ or Girl Child Prosperity Account. The hospital will do all the processing work related to opening the account in a post office or an authorised commercial bank and even pay an opening amount in the account of Rs 1100 as a ‘shagun’.”

Dr. Ekawali Gupta , Consultant – Obstetrician & Gynaecologist added, “The idea is to sensitise parents about the need for financial empowerment of the girl child. The parents can continue paying installments according to their budget and this will help them create  a corpus which can be used to meet expenses like future education and marriage of the female child.”

The hospital also announced the formal opening of a completely up-graded Level III NICU – Neonatal(NEWBORN) Intensive Care Unit.

Dr. Mrigind Singh , Consultant – Pediatrician & Neonatologist said, ” Growth and health of every family depends on the female of the family. For the sake of health and well-being of girl child,  we are celebrating Pari Naaz day. In view of that hospital has expanded facilities to LEVEL III  NICU.”

Dr. Prabhjeet Kaur , Senior Consultant – Pediatrician & Intensivist, who specialises in conducting medical interventions in babies who need critical care (ICU )said, ” Continuing our motto and goal of affordable health services in the heart of the city with all the latest and world-class equipments, We have also initiated an awareness campaign called ‘Pari Naaz’  to drive home the not only the importance of economic well being for the girl child but also for the society for a cause to feel proud at the birth of daughters in the family, so that her future is secured and protected. For this, we as an institution will be using different channels like social media and even events, to promote the celebration and welcoming birth of daughters.”

The hospital also shared its future plans of setting up a kidney transplant unit at the nephrology department. There are plans afoot to establish a bigger NICU & modular OT’s. An NABH Pre-Accredited hospital, Healing Hospital also boasts of  24 X 7 emergency & ambulance services.
