The NSS unit of DAV College celebrated NSS day with great vigour and gusto today. The event was graced with the esteemed presence of Shri Bikram Rana, State Liaison Officer, NSS, UT Chandigarh and Principal Dr. Pawan Kumar Sharma. After an enthralling Saraswati Vandana, depicting the cultural roots of NSS, Dr. Pawan Kumar Sharma welcomed the chief guest and the attendees.
The honourable chief guest, Sh. Bikram Rana, who was recently awarded by the Chandigarh Administration for his contribution in containing coronavirus in Bapu Dham Colony, then addressed the virtual gathering, focusing on the essential strength of NSS and the important part played by it in these dire times of the pandemic.
It was followed by the volunteers singing the NSS Song, and reciting poems on the theme of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat. Programming officer Dr. Sandeep Singh, then conducted an online quiz which received an enthusiastic response from the crowd.
The event concluded with Dr. Suman Kapur, Programming Officer, NSS DAV College presenting the Vote of Thanks. Undeterred by the current grim scenario, the volunteers stood fast and celebrated this auspicious event with much pomp and joy.
