This International Women’s Day, beverage brand Pepsi is all set to celebrate the inimitable Swag of India’s new generation. The brand today announced its association with Shafali Verma, the rising star of Indian Cricket, as she joins the Pepsi universe as its latest Swagstar.
PEPSI is taking forward its youth centric philosophy of Har Ghoont Mein Swag and engaging with consumers through India’s favorite sport. Through this collaboration, the brand is inspiring people, especially women in sports to be their true self and stand by their choices. The 16-year-old will soon take over the brand’s Instagram page to showcase her take on the sport and the philosophy of SWAG.
Speaking on the association, Tarun Bhagat, Director-Marketing, Hydration and Cola, PepsiCo India, said, “This Women’s Day, we chose to celebrate the spirit of womanhood  by associating with Shafali Verma, someone who resonates with the SWAG traits of self-confidence and self-belief and is a trail blazer in the sports  field. We are proud to have Shafali as PEPSI’s latest SWAGSTAR and with this association, we look forward to inspiring a generation of young Indian women as we tell her story of SWAG.”
The teen sensation and ace cricketer Shafali Verma added, “I am thrilled to be associated with an iconic brand like PEPSI®. Women are moving ahead in every sphere of life and it is time we live life confidently and on our own terms. I strongly believe in PEPSI®’s philosophy of encouraging people to be their true self and be effortlessly cool yet confident in what they aspire to be.”
After Mithali Dorai Raj, Shafali is the 2nd Indian woman player to top the Women’s T20I Rankings. She is also the youngest woman to play for India in a T20I match and last year became the youngest Indian woman player to score a half-century in international cricket. Last year, Pepsi collaborated with Late Smt. Charulata Patel, the octogenarian,  acknowledging her love for cricket and her Swag to live  her life to the fullest.
