A popular scientific talk was held today at the Department of Physics, DAV College, Chandigarh by a renowned scientist and a faculty member of Department of Physics, Panjab University, Prof M M Gupta on the topic  ‘Mysterious Neutrinos : Sukshtam se Brahmand tak ka Safar’. The lecture was a part of Public Outreach Programme by the Chandigarh Chapter of National Academy of Sciences(NASI), India. The lecture was attended by over 600 students of graduate and undergraduate classes as well as the faculty members of DAV College. Principal B C Josan , Prof K N Pathak, Ex V C Panjab University, President Chandigarh Chapter of NASI and Prof C N Kumar, Professor, Department of Physics, Panjab University, also addressed the students and encouraged them to go into higher research in the field of Neutrino Physics.

The other science society, Bose Biological association organised poster making competition for undergraduate students. The topics for poster making were related to environmental issues. 74 students participated in the competition. Alisha and Parul bagged the first prize, Mandeep and Ashish bagged second prize while Manika and Vaishali bagged the third position. Principal Dr BC Josan lauded the efforts of the students and the faculty members of Departments of Physics, Botany and Zoology.
