Poetic Meet Held

The Narrators Performing Arts Society in association with Rani Breast Cancer Trust (RBCT) organised its first Kitaab Klub Poetic Meet under the aegis of Kala-Kshetra at  Roadies Koffeehouz, Sector 35, Chandigarh. The theme of the meet was Poetic Expressions & Different Languages. The event was conceptualized by Nisha Luthra, Founder Director of The Narrators Performing Arts Society. Nisha herself is a poet and also the author of the Hindi poetry book, ‘Uns’ which is being translated into multiple languages. Luthra strongly believes that translating a literary work enhances its reach amongst a diversified readership, thereby  empowering the writer and increasing the work’s  efficacy . RBCT Trustee Bittu Sandhu was also present.

The event also marked the felicitation  of Chandigarh’s Eminent poetess, Mrs. Lily Swarn on receiving the prestigious Chandigarh Sahitya Akademi Award recently. 

Many poets and literature lovers who are members of Kala-Kshetra came to attend the Kitaab Klub meet to share their poetry and discuss the poetry of others around the defined theme. The start of the session was marked by recitation videos by Mrs. Emer Davis from Ireland, and that of Varanasi based Poet & Professor, Bina Singh who are also on the panel of Kala-Kshetra Advisory Board for the Ireland and Kashi Chapters respectively. Tricity’s famous poets including  Nisha Luthra recited their poetry.

The event saw participation of poets like  Lily Swarn,    Poet activist, Amy Singh, Dr. Archana Singh, Suneet Madan, Alka Kansra, Actor, Director & Poet, Balpreet Kaur, Poet & Actor, Babita Kapoor, and Nagpur based poet, Madhu Gupta. Actor & author, Shivam Dhall was also present.   The session was hosted by poet and author, Sonia Chauhan who heads Kalakshetra’s Chandigarh Chapter for Creative & Fiction Writing genres. The Chief of Ceremony was Rajan Batheja, World Head for Kala-Kshetra.
