Principal of DAV College Sector-10 Chandigarh Dr B.C. Josan retired from college on Tuesday. During his farewell he said he is thankful to Shri. Punam Suri, President, DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi for showing faith in him and giving him three years extension. His tenure was very good and he gave credit to the faculty, staff and management for the same. He envisions more job oriented courses in the college in the coming years.
Here are some facts about Dr Josan:
Dr. B.C. Josan, a PhD in psychology, joined D.A.V. College, Sec-10, Chandigarh in 2008. He was a Principal in D.A.V. Abohar before his term here in Chandigarh. He has been instrumental in the development of DAV College during his tenure as a Principal. NAAC accredited the college with A grade under his leadership. College has been granted four research centres in the Departments of Chemistry, Biotechnology, Zoology and Psychology. Many new Courses including Physics and Chemistry Honours, BA BEd, B.Sc Bed and MBA have been started due to his initiatives. College received a grant for upgradation of undergraduate courses under Star College Scheme of DBT, New Delhi. Seven Skill Development Courses have been started under his able leadership. College has received a grant from RUSA for development of educational infrastructure in College. The College has been recently shortlisted to receive a grant of Rs. 1 Crore and 45 lakhs for Research and construction of Central Instrumentation facility. AC hostels for girls and boys and ramps have been constructed in the College. He started Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre. College witnessed an unprecedented growth during his Principalship. He had very cordial relations with the faculty throughout his term.
