The Unaided colleges of Punjab has welcomed the decision of the Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh of not to conduct the examinations in the interest of millions of students of Punjab.
Prominent educationists of Punjab Satnam Singh Sandhu,Ashok Mittal, Manjit Singh ,Anshu Kataria welcomed Capt. Amarinder Singh’s repeated appeal to the UGC for not conducting examinations in Punjab. Not only is it beneficial for the students of Punjab but it will also give a sigh of relief to lacs of students of other states studying in 1600 colleges and universities of Punjab.
Capt. Amarinder Singh has repeatedly said that due to increasing cases of corona, the environment in Punjab is not favourable to conduct examinations and online examinations are also not possible in Punjab due to the large number of Dalit and lower caste students as they don’t posses basic infrastructure for the same.
Therefore, the Joint Action Committee welcomes Capt. Amarinder Singh’s appeal to the UGC to reconsider this decision.
SC students who are unable to appear for online exams due to lack of laptop, internet smartphone are happy with this decision.

Students from states like Jammu and Kashmir, Maharashtra and Delhi have also lauded the decision as there are more cases of Covid 19 in these areas.
