On a call from Chandigarh Administration for augmenting the capacity of I.C.U. Ward at Govt. Multi Specialty Hospital, Sector 16, Chandigarh, we, at Rotary Club of Chandigarh took up this project. As per this project, we were to provide 14 Nos. fully automatic I.C.U. Beds with side trolley, over bed trolley and also 14 nos. I.C.U. Monitors. All these have already been handed over to the Hospital. The total cost of equipment is more than Rs. 25.00 Lakhs
With these equipments, the I.C.U. capacity at Govt. Multi Specialty Hospital, Sector 16, Chandigarh, will almost to treble from 8 beds to 22 beds. This shall be a permanent facility for the citizens of Chandigarh.
Speaking on the occasion, President Sukhjiit Singh Gill said that this was a much needed expansion of health facilities at the hospital, and will be of long term benefits of the people coming for treatment.
Hands over 125 Smartphones to Education Department
In a meeting presided over by Mr. Rupinder Singh Brar PCS, Director, Education Chandigarh, 125 smartphones were handed over to the Principals of 5 schools where children from weaker strata of the society are studying.
President Rtn. Sukhjiit Singh Gill said that in these pandemic times, when schools are closed and most of the education has shifted to online, these phones shall provide access to online education to these children.
Mr. Brar thanked the Rotary Club for these smartphones and assured that they will be put to best use for the children of higher classes in these schools.
Donated PPE Kits, Gloves, Sanitizers to Civil Hospital, Dhakoli
600 PPE kits, 600 hand sanitisers, and 60 boxes of gloves were donated for use in the dispensaries with Govt. Hospital, Dhakoli. These are to be used for the protection of staff of various health centres attached with Civil Hospital, Dhakoli as they attend to the patients in these pandemic times.
Speaking on the occasion President Rtn. Sukhjiit Singh Gill congratulated Dr. Harleen and Rtn. Sartaj Lamba for the huge amount of work that they and their team are doing for health care of the area, and assured that Rotary Club will be ready to help further as may be required by the Health Department.
The SDM of Derabassi Kuldeep Bawa and Committee Nodal incharge Rishabh Garg appreciated this noble gesture of Rotary Club Chandigarh for coming forward to help.
