Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA) a science movement led by eminent scientists is organising Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) 2018-19 – the national science talent search examination through digital devices for new India. It is totally focused on the school going children from class 6th to 11th from across the country. For this, VIBHA jointly in association with Vigyan Prasar (VP) – an autonomous organisation under Department of Science and Technology (DST) and National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT) of Ministry of Human Resources and Development, Govt. of India to conduct this competition.
VVM is a platform to inculcate and generate interest in science, foster excellence in students and nurture and mentor them for their careers in pure sciences. This examination will make young generation well aware about the Indian Contribution to Science, which is not available in Syllabi. Selected students will undergo multilevel testing. Successful students will get a chance to interact with renowned scientists of our country. The details regarding VVM can be accessed on www.vvm.org.in. This competition is totally online. which leads our young generation to new world of science through digital India. The students can give the examination through the digital devices like, smart phone, tablet, Desktop and laptop. Students can register through the respective schools or independently.
Only one school level examination will be conducted nationwide on 25 November or 28 November 2018 from 11 am to 01 pm. The winners will receive the cash prizes, memento and certificate. National convener of VVM Dr. Arvind C Ranade along with National co-convener Mrs. Mayuri Dutt with the organizers from Chandigarh briefed the up-coming scientific programmes for children of different schools.
Young national winner of VVM, Mr. Yash Chopra from Vivek High School, Chnadigarh and Hari Ansh Jindia, St. Jones High School, Chandigarh also shared their experiences.
Prof. S.K. Tomar, president, Chandigarh Vigyan Parishad (A regional Chapter of VIBHA) welcomed the delegates. Prof. Arvind Garg, State Coordinator, Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM), Chandigarh proposed vote of thanks. Prof. B.K. Kuthiala, Chairman, Haryana State Higher Education Council, and Dr. K. S. Arya, Vice Chairman, Panchnad Research Institute along with many other educationists were present on the occasion.
