Lt. Gen. K J Singh (Retd.), PVSM, Ex-GOC-in-Chief, Western Command, led the Shaurya Bike Rally today, which was part of the 6th‘Shaurya Blood Connect with Indian Army’ event. A blood donation camp also held after the rally, where 100 units of blood was collected, which will be used by the Command Hospital, Chandi Mandir.

The event was organized by ‘I Am Still Human’ NGO in association with WSL Automobiles, Phase 7, Mohali, Oakridge International School and Fusion Seven Events. Last year a similar event was held at India Gate, New Delhi.

Mr Vivek Mehra, Founder Chairman, ‘I Am Still Human’, said, “The Command Hospital requires 50 units of blood daily, however, there is shortage of 20-30 units almost everyday. We organize this blood camp every year and the collected blood is used for the welfare of retired and serving officers and jawans. This is our way of helping the Indian Army.”

Lt. Gen. K.J Singh (Retd.) said, “It has been great to see the ‘I Am Still Human’ team working so passionately for and with Indian Army. The response to the event has been very inspiring. There is no doubt that the youth stands with its country and is ready to support them in any way possible.”

Prominent persons present on the occasion included, Mr JD Ghai, Founder, Santabanta.com, Mr Bobbee Singh, Social Activist and Ms Ramanjit Ghuman, Prinicipal, Oakridge International School, Mohali.
