Sh. Rakesh Bedi, renowned Film/TV actor visited Kalagram, Chandigarh today. Prof. Saubhagya Vardhan, Director, NZCC welcomed him. He especially came for an interaction with the children from slum area of U.T. Chandigarh, who are participating in the Summer Theatre Workshop being organized by the North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC), Patiala (Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India) at Kalagram, Chandigarh. Dr. Kulbir Kaur is conducting the said workshop. Under her direction the children staged two nukkar nataks namely Mukti Dham and a Bhand Mirasi act on social issues before Sh. Rakesh Bedi. He was very emotional to saw such a wonderful act being prepared by the children. Sh. Bedi appreciated the children for their hardwork.
Prof. Saubhagya Vardhan, Director, NZCC informed that NZCC organized Summer Workshop for Children in Painting, Art & Craft, Theatre, Folk dances of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan etc. at various schools of tricity i.e. Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School, MHC, Manimajra, Chandigarh; Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Moulijagran, Chandigarh; Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School, Sector 32, Chandigarh; Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School, Sector 15, Chandigarh; and also at Resident Welfare Association, Maya Garden City, Zirakpur and Kalagram, Chandigarh in the month of June, 2018. 650 children participated in these workshops.
