Bangiya Sanskritik Sammilaini Chandigarh celebrated the 161″ Birth Anniversary Of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore at its premises at Banga Bhawan , Sector 35. The celebration started with the lighting of the ceremonial Lamp. The President of the organisation, Shri Anindu Das welcomed all and elaborated on the importance of the life and work of the great poet in the life of Bengalis in particular and humanity in general. The cultural Team of the Sammilani sang the opening song which was followed by individual songs by the artist who sang melodious world famous Rabindra Sangeet.
The Vice President (Cultural) Shri Bhabani Pal said that the drama Dabotar Grash’, which was performed by the children and the adult alike is based on the blind belief prevailing in the society at that time. Gurudev who stood firmly against such practices beautifully brought out the message in the famous poem, which was converted into a drama and performed under the direction of Shri Subhashish Neogi, a well know theatre personality of the tri city. The General Secretary of BSS Prabal Syam said that the “Geti Alokha”, a song based dance was on the theme of not limiting oneself to his/her identity but to embrace the whole world as one and spread the message of love and compassion. This year the programme was special as it is the Golden Jubilee Year of the organisation which will culminate with a grand show on 30th July 2022.
