Namita Jain is much more than a household name, and needs no introduction, when it comes to her lessons in fitness, health and food. She’s a wellness expert and the woman behind country’s most popular cutlery brand Kishco, which anyone can recall who has had well laid out dining table at home.
Kishco, the heritage brand is a popular household name since 1950. Kishco has established itself as a benchmark for quality since inception. It is known for its cutlery, hotel ware and cookware range. Each product is made from the finest metals and goes through rigorous quality checks, ensuring durability.
The brand takes a leap forward by introducing Kishco Healthy Copper bottles that come with a wide range of benefits and that’s what brought Namita Jain to Chandigarh. The bottles are made of 100 percent pure copper. These are available in copper (original) finish and also available in a variety of colours (wooden, blue). The price ranges between Rs 999 to Rs 1650.
“Water is energized when in contact with copper, a mineral with vital properties. The Kishco Healthy Copper proves to be the perfect choice of enjoying a glass of energized water every morning”, said Mumbai based Namita Jain, who was in Chandigarh to talk about the latest Kishco venture.
She also held a session with the students of INIFD in Sector 8 here on how fashion and fitness are synonymous when it comes to looking good. The one-hour session on ‘Beauty Inside Out’ was to tell students that fashion comes with good health and being a wellness expert, she shared with them wellness tips for a healthy living.
When asked about the importance of drinking water from copper bottles, Namita Jain explained, “Copper is an essential mineral for our body. Ayurveda recommends storing water overnight – six to eight hours – in a copper container and drinking it first thing in the morning for maintaining good health and boosting immunity. The body needs a certain amount of water every day and I thought why not promote old traditions of drinking water from copper containers which are made from 100% pure copper.”
Namita Jain, author of 12 books is known for her wellness tips. She had last year only launched her recipe book, ‘Low Fat, Low Guilt’. While giving an insight into what the book is all about, Jain said, “The recipes which have been featured are given healthy twists, while the calorific elements are kept to a minimum. It includes low-cal recipes of delicious soups, salads, wraps, toasts, rice dishes, pastas and dips, making healthy eating a pleasurable experience,”.
She said, these days most common fitness & wellness myths are that crash diets are the most effective way to lose weight, stating, although crash diets can result in large amounts of weight loss, it is muscle mass and water, not excess body fat that is lost. Problems associated with crash diets are electrolyte imbalances, anemia, calcium and iron deficiency. It is important to follow a sensible diet to safeguard your well-being and ensure that the lost pounds don’t come back on, Namita added.
