Tricity’s Aashna Bagri becomes youngest Indian to win Asia Pacific International Dance Championship

Tricity’s fifteen year old salsa sensation Aashna Bagri has won the Asia Pacific International Dance Championship(APDC) 2018, held recently in Bangkok, Thailand. Aashna  achieved 1st position as the champion in the category of Solo open – Amateur at the competition. Aashna who hails from Panchkula, won the coveted title competing against contestants from 10 countries from Asia Pacific region on International soil. She was the youngest to participate and win in APDC. With this victory she has   also become the youngest Indian to qualify for the World Salsa Summit to be held in January 2019 in Miami (USA).

With the Bangkok win Aashna has earned her 2nd Asian title in the solo category this year and is all geared up for competing  for the world title. Her preparations for the same are in full swing under training & guidance of Indian Dance sport Salsa Coach Varun DS Rana who is also Joint secretary of All India Dance Sport Federation(AIDSF). Aashna Bagri has been extensively trained by Varun D S Rana, who has founded Fit dance studio  in Sec 32, Chandigarh.

It is noteworthy that Aashna was also the youngest Indian to wear the official Indian blazer last year in Asian Indoor Games held in Turkmenistan. She continues her success story this year too. She has won three titles in 2018. She won the Asian Open Solo title in Bangalore at the India International Dance Sport Championship(IIDC), was 1ST Runners up at the Afro Latin Dance Cup, Chandigarh and the latest feather in her cap is the 1st position in Asia Pacific Dance Championship in Bangkok.
