The COVID-19 pandemic has unleashed an unprecedented crisis globally, ending lives indiscriminately. Yet in the midst of this global health crisis, acts of kindness and solidarity are burgeoning, helping communities and people everywhere to adapt to new norm.
The UN-SDG Action campaign launched a call for stories of solidarity in action and impactful work that individual and organizations has been taking to support communities as we navigate a pandemic and liik forward for recovery
Dr Vishal Sharma, Associate Professor, Botany Department, Post Graduate Government College for Girls,Sector11,Chandigarh,a NAAC Accredited ‘Grade A’,CGPA3.52,has been conferred with first prize in an Individual category of Environment Sustainability in the First UN-SDG Action Awards hosted by the UNDP-Sustainability Development Goal Coordination centre(SDGCC),Punjab on 28.9.20 for his studies on Windrow Composting-a bioconversion of Solid waste. The function is chaired by Chief Secretary,Punjab, Ms Vini Mahajan; Mr.Jaspal Singh,Principal Secretary,Deptt.of Planning,Govt.of Punjab, Mr Vikas Verma, Regional Head, North Region,UNDP,India and Mr.Vivek Atray(Ex-IAS).
Principal, Prof (Dr) Anita Kaushal congratulated the winners and applauded the efforts of Dr. Vishal in his efforts for promoting sustainable development and protection of environment.
