A one day Workshop on the topic of “Academic Publishing: Way to increase the Visibility of your Research” sponsored by Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) was organized by Mr Gurpreet Sohal, GGDSD College Library in collaboration with Department of Information Technology of the College here today. The workshop was attended by 80 participants and experts from North India.
The workshop aimed at creating awareness among the research community regarding the knowhow of academic publishing to increase its visibility.
The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Jagtar Singh, Professor, Department of Library & Information Science, Punjabi University Patiala. He stressed that the research community must have knowledge about authentic literature review by identifying their research needs an goals. Dr. Rajesh Singh of University of Delhi in his lecture apprised the audience of various techniques of online information retrieval strategies and spoke on research metrics like H-Index. Dr. Neeraj Kumar Singh of Panjab University gave an overview of how to publish one’s research output in a high quality research journal and also spoke on doing authentic research by avoiding plagiarism.
Principal Dr. Bhushan Kumar Sharma congratulated the organizers for organizing such an informative event and encouraged the participants for applying the knowledge assembled in the workshop in their regular studies and research work for producing quality work.
