One day workshop on “Magnificent World of Science” sponsored by RUSA under the aegis of Chandigarh Administration was organized in Post Graduate Government for Girls Sector 11, Chandigarh. Eminent Scientist Prof. K.P.J. Reddy from Aerospace engineering, Indian Institute of Science was the key speaker. His presentation on ‘Magic world of shock waves’ captivated the audience. Dr. Reddy motivated the students to think, innovate and incorporate the basic research in day to day activities. He demonstrated that keen observation and clarity of concepts are the imperative in scientific learning.
In the second session Dr. Prince Sharma made a presentation on ‘Science as a source of strength’. He motivated the staff members and students to imagine, invent and inspire in the glorious world of Science.
Around 30 students displayed their posters during the workshop. Megha Negi, Manisha Singh, Meghna Sharma, Anshika Thakur and Shikha Sharma won prizes in the various competitions held during the workshop.
More than 300 students along with 30 faculty members participated in the workshop. The workshop was immensely beneficial to the audience as it ignited their minds and inculcated scientific temperament.
