A workshop on ” Demystifying emotional intelligence ” and ‘understanding the link between thoughts, feelings and actions’ was held at Ankur School, Sector 14, here today. The workshop was conducted by Mind and Heart Foundation felicitated by Ms. Sanjoli Chimni Pande.
She has more than 24 years of experience across education, media and investment banking. Around 60 teachers attended the workshop.
The purpose of the workshop was to guide and motivate the teachers to work more purposefully towards their goals at school and in their classrooms. Ms Sanjoli gave valuable tips on maintaining emotional health to the teachers. She told the teachers how we can inculcate the qualities related to good emotional health to the students.
She encouraged the teachers to identify the problem areas mainly how to engage the students ‘ attention, and the importance of emotional skills and competencies like self awareness, self management, social awareness, relationship skills and responsible decision making.
She also spoke on exercising of accurate optimism which relates to knowing the pros and cons of a particular decision before applying in reality. The teachers were also told about the different kinds of choices that they can have in their thoughts, feelings and actions as how we think and feel determine our actions.
Principal Dr. Parminder Duggal emphasised on the need to organise such workshops as they help in updating teachers knowledge and make them more sensitive to the needs of the students.
