A workshop on “Online Examiner Portal” was organized at GGDSD College here today. More than 40 delegates from various colleges of the city attended the workshop. Prof Anil Kumar Grover, vice chancellor Panjab University presided over the workshop.
The ‘Online Examiner Portal’ is a new initiative by Panjab University wherein, the faculty of all colleges under PU, who wish to apply for selection as examiner, can now do it online, thus being saved the trouble of visiting the University physically to submit such an application. All relevant details of the applicant, the subjects he or she wishes to check, the qualifications and supporting documents etc. are uploaded via an online application form. Each person gets his personal login ID and password.
In his address, Dr Grover highlighted the need and importance of the new system of “Online Examiner Portal” in view of digitalizing the secrecy and enhancing the efficiency of the process.
Dr Parvinder Singh, Controller of Examination, PU gave a detailed presentation explaining the various steps leading to the selection of the examiners. He emphasized the benefits of the program and said that the main idea behind this program is to facilitate the working while enhancing the efficiency. “The time taken will be less and results will be better and faster,” he said. Dr Parvinder also shared that the teacher returns and payment for the duties would also be done directly through this portal.
Dr Bhushan Kumar Sharma, Principal, GGDSD College welcomed the participants and urged everyone to become computer savvy, as it was imperative in today’s digitalized world.
