The Department of Psychology, Post Graduate Government College of Girls, Sector -11, Chandigarh celebrated the World Mental Health Day on 8th and 9th October 2021. The event raised awareness about mental health and the trap of drug addiction. The students performed a ‘Nukkad Natak’ in the college campus which was based on the theme of ‘Nasha Ek Bimari.’ They also carried out a rally awakening the students with slogans being raised on the entire campus.
The events continued to spread Mental Health awareness on 9th October also. The principal of the college Professor (Dr.) Anita Kaushal inaugurated the event and encouraged the students. Students competed for events like Poster Making, Slogan Writing, Debate, Folk Singing, and Charismatic Personality based on different themes related to life skills, mental health, education, love, success, relationships and meaning in life. It was a highly interactive experience filled with learning and joy.
Mr Ajay Sharma, Dean of the college concluded the session with distribution of prizes to the winners. The faculty of the college visited the poster exhibition by the students and appreciated their hard work.
