For the third consecutive year,the Panjab University, Chandigarh is holding one month long celebrations to make 21st June the International day of Yoga. This year too, Directorate of Sports, Panjab University,and Chandigarh organized one month free yoga camp to make yoga popular among the citizens for healthy life. In continuation to the Yoga festival today Directorate in Collaboration with DSW, Department of NSS, PU organized Yoga Protocol held from 5.30 am to 6.30 am followed by Yoga rally as a part of the awareness campaign for Yoga. The rally was flagged off by Vice Chancellor Prof Arun Kumar Grover.Col G.S Chadda, Registrar, Dr Parminder Singh Ahluwalia, Director Sports, Prof Neena Kaplesh, DSW, Dr Navdeep Sharma, Co-ordinator NSS, Dr Neeru Malik, Senator, were present on the occasion.

Around 650 yoga aspirants performed protocol and joined the Yoga rally for awareness. Vice Chancellor Prof.Arun Kumar Grover addressed the gathering and motivated them to join for the Yoga day celebration and congratulated the Directorate of Sports, DSW, and Department of NSS for making this event a great success.

Dr.Parminder Singh, Director Sports further informed that open yoga competitions for different age groups on will be organized on20-06-2017 at the PU Gymnasium hall and the grand celebration of 3rdInternational day of Yoga on 21stJune 2017 at 6.30 am onwards.
